Sofamaster was founded on July 5, 1985. Since then, we've manufactured upholstered furniture in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
Our Story
For more than four decades, Sofamaster has manufactured fabric upholstered furniture for the U.S. and Mexico markets, building lasting relationships with leading retailers along the way. We've grown into a trusted manufacturer with deep experience in fabric upholstery.
Sofamaster is a family owned and operated business. The founding family's second generation now leads the company, carrying the same standards forward into its next chapter.
We build our reputation on comfort, quality, and good taste, always aiming to exceed expectations. We stand out through design, service, and quality; and we measure our success by the growth we create for our team, our customers, our suppliers, and our partners.
Milestones
Sofamaster is founded, and fabric upholstery manufacturing begins in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. We sold to Mexican retailers only.
We expand and start to focus on the U.S. market, selling to U.S. retailers.
The second generation of the founding family joins the company.
We add different fill options, like down blend seating and memory gel, and restructure our operation to offer special order options; so our customers can let their consumer design their own furniture.
We expand into commercial-grade furniture by creating Upholstra, our division for the hospitality business.
Continuing to innovate in the way we operate to better serve our customers, with a focus on product design and improvements.
How We Work
Our binational operation between the USA and Mexico gives us the craftsmanship capacity to build more labor-intensive pieces without compromise. It's what allows us to offer special orders and premium materials as part of how we build every piece.
We are fabric specialists. That focus gives us depth and mastery in one material, rather than spreading our craftsmanship thin across leather and other upholstery types.
